Sometimes the most powerful features are the easiest to use.

This is certainly the case with the new Calendar feature you will find throughout Project Gateway 5.1.

A calendar is a comprehensive, up-to-the-minute report that shows all the time related repository information that applies to that project, participant, organization or program.

Calendars, Calendars Everywhere!

Whether you use the Web or Notes, whether your role is on the front lines or in the front office, Project Gateway creates a calendar with your point of view.

Project Calendars show issues that are due, risks that need attention, and active scope changes. It shows project documents need approval, and documents that are required but missing for upcoming tasks.

Participants calendars show events for all the projects for which that participant is involved and all those items created by or assigned to that person.

Program calendars display information for all member projects.

Organization calendars bring together the events for all of the participants in that organization.

Every item on a calendar is linked to the underlying repository document. Thus the calendar provides a bird's-eye view that is only one click away from the details .

Best of all, using calendars could not be simpler. Every profile document has a new action button labeled " Todo". Pressing it creates the calendar for the current month.

Options are provided to allow you to select specific information or alternate months.

You can elect to show only milestones, for example, on a Program calendar.

Or, you can display a project calendar showing all of your "Completed" work - handy when preparing reviews or status reports.

Schedule Info - Putting the real world into your world view

Just Click...

To make calendar's even more useful, we've added a related feature called "Schedule Information" to record the upcoming events for any project, participant, organization, or program. For example, a project might have an upcoming customer visit. By entering this visit as schedule information on the project, it if will appear on the project calendar, the program calendar, and on the calendars for all project participants.

When schedule information if entered for participants, each item is interpreted as a period of absence. This provides convenient way to document vacations, trade shows, and customer trips. These items will appear on the calendars of all the projects for which that participant is involved.

Together, but calendars and schedule information personalize the repository experience. They can help everyone in your project community be more productive.
