ProjectGo! Project Directed Workflow is a new technology that combines project management planning with workflow automation. You don't have to be a Notes wizard to use this technology. It comes ready to run in every database created by Project Gateway!
Once enabled, Project Gateway Agents automatically send email to the project team to remind them of upcoming commitments and overdue assignments for the life of the project. The ProjectGo! system works on all Notes Servers and does not require any special server setup or additional server software.

Agents adapt to project plan changes -- notifications are always relevant to the latest progress situation and adhere to the precedence structures and slack calculations of the project plan. Notification of overdue tasks can be dependent on completion of predecessor tasks as defined in the project plan. The time window for overdue notices can be dependent upon available slack so overdue critical tasks get immediate follow-up while other tasks are monitored more loosely. Advance notice can be keyed to predecessor completion and a look ahead period.

Participant Agents

Every person in the project team has a participant agent that monitors their assignments in the database. You personalize the notification conditions and the email address using the Participant Profile document in the project repository. Project Gateway participant agents provide Advance, Late Start and Late Finish Notifications.

Management Agents
Each project has a Management Agent which reports to the project manager. It monitors all assignments in that project and will act even if the participants have disabled their own notifications. In addition to providing Advance, Late Start, and Late Finish notifications, you can specify special behavior for milestones and key project events.

Interproject Dependency Agents
Project Gateway provides special agents that monitor dependencies across project boundaries. These agents send notification messages when projects get out of sync with one another as can easily happen in a large program. When projects that have InterProject Dependencies are synchronized, required constraint dates are inserted into the project plans.

Wide Area Project Communications
Agents send email to the addresses designated on the profile forms. This can include phone, fax, pager, and Internet destinations. Each notification includes complete details to tell you who, what, and why. In addition, it contains a doclink to the assignment document so that you can update the project information immediately from your desktop.
