Methodologies are very helpful tools for improving the quality and consistency of project
work. All too often the investment in methods development ends up in volumes on the shelf rather
than in the day to day work of the project team.
TaskHelp is an important feature of Project Gateway, which directly integrates methodology
information into project assignments so every member of the project will have immediate
access to appropriate information as they work.
TaskHelp links project assignments to methodology documents stored in Notes databases
or anywhere on the Internet so they can be used with just a mouse click. Unlike binders
on the shelf, these methodology materials can make full use of multimedia and can evolve
to include successful examples of past work.
Shared Knowledge
The methodology database is shared by many projects and can link to past project documents and
other reference works in Notes or on the Web. These materials are maintained independently
away from the specific projects that use them so that they can be upgraded without impacting ongoing
project work.
Easy Setup
The project planner puts keywords or URLs into the project plan task text fields.
Project Gateway generates doclinks or hypertext links as it creates the repository
assignment documents. Repository users need only to click on the link to get task
specific training, examples or other support.
