Observatory Archiving
The Observatory Archive is an application provided as part of the Project Observatory System.
The archive database will receive copies of the final report for finished project and copies of library documents that are deleted when projects, program, or organizations are deleted.
This operates as a automatic service which finds projects that have been finished, canceled, abandoned, or marked for deletion. It copies the final report for each project into the archive database.
Documents associated with the archived project, and with any deleted programs or organization groups are also duplicated in the archive.
There are a series of rules used to determine when a project is a candidate for archiving. These rules are controlled by the system administrator.
Archiving is implemented as a two stage removal process which can be "undone" if necessary for several days after the archive action. (Just in case)
