Reaching New Communities: Selectable Time Reporting in PG6

A setting in the Project Profile defines the kind of time reporting for that project.
Task Level Timesheet Reporting, Project Summary Level Reporting, or No Time Reporting.
You can also change methods during the life of the project.

In Project Gateway 6, there are several kinds of work assignments.
  • Traditional Task Assignments
  • Light, Non Time Reporting Assignments
  • Project Level Summary Assignments.

  • Traditional Task assignments like this one are designed for Timesheet Reporting.
They require effort estimates, and record actual work on a daily basis, reported weekly.
Task Time accounting provides the most opportunity for improving predictibily and cost allocation.

"Light" Assignments are used when time reporting is not required.
You report progress using a checksheet for task dates and accomplishments.
This is the perfect method for research groups, academic sites, volunteer organizations,
engineering, and marketing teams and others new to project management.
This puts all the emphasis on tracking accomplishments without the distraction of estimating and recording labor hours.

Summary assignments provide a way to use Timesheets for Project Level reporting.
These provide basic project accounting without task level estimating.
