Wireless Access Now Available: October 26th, 1999 Press Release
Our very popular Repository Workbook has now been updated for V5.03b It gives you a quick, easy way to see the new timesheet system as well as to provide training for your team. See the link on this page for download instructions.
Project Gateway 5.03b Is Now Shipping
V5.03b is a maintenance release with extensive changes in the Timesheet system and a number of
changes in the tools and database design. This release is being shipped to all North American customers with current service agreements. Customers outside of North America should contact
their distributor for availability.
With the release of 5.03b we are distributing a major enhancement of the Project Gateway Timesheet facility that incorporates a variety of important new features.
Most important, this release makes the timesheet process considerably simpler for new users and their administrators.
Notes Timesheet Enhancements Introduced in
5.02
Auto load!- Folder Free Operation You no longer need desktop folders! (although the folder support is retained for backward compatibility) Timesheets are now loaded automatically when opened with all tasks scheduled for the timesheet period. Future tasks can be added using a button on the form.
The 16-row timesheet form is now the standard. The 8- line form has been retired. The capacity remains at 128 items/week.
Participant Recall The system now remembers which participant you are from week to week and presets the reporting period.
You can also initiate timesheets from the participant profile.
Extended Task Information Each row of the timesheet now expands to show project name, phase, WBS, ID, and date information.
Buttons on the form control the display of this expanded
information. The selection of the information is configured by the
administrator.
Smart Sequencing Timesheets now display in-progress tasks first, then upcoming tasks in start date order, followed by overhead categories at the end.
Due Now ! Indicator Tasks that will be due by the end of this timesheet period are marked with an
exclamation "!" mark.
Entry Value Validation Users are prompted to confirm entry of large daily values to prevent common entry errors.
The administrator sets the limit.
Total Hours Validation Total hours can be limited to a specific or preset range of values which can be enforced strictly or via a warning.
The administrator sets these limits.
Better Scrolling and Printing Scrolling buttons are now at the top of the form. The left-right centering and scroll button display problems are cured.
Timesheets now print properly when posted.
Customizable site options New system settings let you control the appearance and initialization of timesheets without making design changes.
Timesheet Reminder Agent Initiation You can have your timesheets created by an agent which will send you a notifying email with a link to the timesheet document for that week. This
Timesheet reminder agent simplifies timesheet deployment for large groups.
Auto Refresh The timesheet will update itself each time it is opened with changes in task plans. This will add new tasks which have been added to projects during the week and any changes
in planned work. This relieves participants of the responsibility to check for changes thus making daily timesheet updating more convenient.
Validation on Submit All assignments are checked for validity when the timesheet is submitted so that the user cannot put time against tasks that have been removed from project plans since the timesheet was created.
No-Timesheet Option for Participants A new setting on the participant profile disables timesheet generation for a specific participant and prevents the inclusion of this participant in the missing timesheet reporting process.
